Cognac -
Cognac is named after a town in France, a vineyard area known for their white grapes. Cognac is made from Brandy, but not just any brandy will do. Cognac has strict laws it has to abide by, the grapes for the wine have to be 90% Ugni blanc (creating a wine that is almost undrinkable being very dry, acidic and thin),then the wine is distilled into brandy, then the brandy is distilled into Cognac using copper pot stills and finally aged in oak barrels for two years. But these barrels cannot be just any barrels, they have to come from specific regions of France, Limousin or Tronçais.
With all the work that goes into Cognac it is easy to see why the price is higher, you get what you pay for. The following is my Cognac in my collection of Mini Liquor Bottles, I hope you have a chance to enjoy the different types of Cognac and find the one you like the best. Cheers.
